13-year-old Omar Ibarra was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in 2013. Members of the UCSB men’s soccer team visited Omar in the hospital and stayed in contact with him during his treatments.

After several rounds of treatment, Omar is now a survivor. In February 2015, the UCSB men’s soccer teamed up with Cancer Fit. A local non-profit organization aimed to help improve the quality of life for adult and child cancer survivors.
